August 30, 2022Said to be the ‘oldest surviving yacht built in Tasmania’, the Terra Linna is a beautiful double ended centreboard cutter. Built out of Huon Pine in 1880, she was designed and built by George Luckman in Sandy Bay for H.W.Knight. Restored and re-launched by the Wooden Boat Guild in 2012.
If you want to know more, extensive research has been carried out to find out as much history as possible about this beaut little boat. Here are some of those articles.
Ehive/Maritime Museum of Tasmania’s history.
It was a pleasure to feature Terra Linna in our wooden boat folk series, as it is important to us at AWBF Inc. to record and share the stories of wooden boats. If you’re interested in helping us record more of these beautiful stories, please see our website for more information.
