Hobart to host Maritime Heritage Event in December 2015
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
The Australian Register of Historic Vessels (ARHV) in conjunction with the Maritime Museum of Tasmania will be hosting a Tasmanian Maritime Heritage Seminar on Thursday 3rd & Friday 4th December 2015. It will be held at the Old Woolstore Hotel, Macquarie Street, Hobart. The Australian Register of Historic Vessels captures a wide range of vessels which are relevant to Australia’s maritime heritage and social history and reveals their background with information on their designers, builders and owners, along with their many fascinating and engaging social stories.
The seminar program will include a variety of speakers on current maritime heritage activity in Tasmania; the registration of historic vessels; practical discussions on conservation, funding and management; research projects, using volunteers; and a number of presentations on aspects of Tasmanian maritime history. All in all, a packed program over two days. And better still, registration is free and includes lunch and morning/afternoon teas over the two days. A dinner is being arranged at Hadley’s Hotel on the evening of Thursday 3 December which will be at delegate’s expense (approx. $60.00 per person plus drinks).
Those interested in being delegates to the Seminar are invited to record an expression of interest with Mark Hosking at the Maritime Museum of Tasmania: admin@maritimetas.org . Further details of the Seminar program will be circulated as they come to hand.[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/YACiQVleCVk”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
