Stamp Magic at the AWBF

We were charmed by artist Kaye Green’s beautiful little linocut stamps, when she approached us earlier this year.  These are part of her Tiger Track Project, which aims to provide souvenir stamps at scores of Tasmanian attractions around the state. It’s a lovely idea, which Kaye discovered years ago on an exchange student program in Japan.  She found that many tourist destinations and temples there offered rubber stamp impressions and special tourist booklets. Kaye attended a local Japanese high school for a year and during her travels she loved collecting the unique  stamp impressions. After completing art degrees in both Tasmania and the United States and working as a university lecturer in lithography, she is now recognised as an award-winning artist and has returned home to Tasmania (Kaye’s an Ulverstone girl).  The Tiger Track Project is her way of contributing to the booming visitor industry with these superb little works of art.  Visitors can collected stamp impressions from several places on the festival site, and like so much else at the MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival, it’s free!
