The crew at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival are sailing high after winning the judges’ Gold in the Major Festivals and Events category (sponsored by Hobart Airport) and Gold for the People’s Choice Award at the 2025 Tasmanian Tourism Awards!
It’s a huge honour that recognises the heart and hands behind the festival — our staff and board, volunteers, boat owners, partners and supporters — all of whom help keep the spirit of wooden boats alive and thriving. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who cast their vote for us in the People’s Choice — your support truly keeps our sails full.
Born from a shared love of wooden boats, AWBF has grown into a celebration that’s both grand in spectacle and intimate in spirit, bringing people together from across Australia and around the world.
Next stop: the 2025 QANTAS Australian Tourism Awards in March 2026, where we’ll proudly represent Tasmania on the national stage.
