Dave Golding and Anastasia Konstantinidis have entered the lovely Kerrawyn in more than one Australian Wooden Boat Festival, but the connection goes much deeper than that. Dave was our official Sawmiller for the Dutch Boat Building Project in 2017 and for the American Project in 2019. Dave’s expertise, good humour and willingness to help have allowed two international teams to experience fine Tasmanian timbers and the hospitality of the Huon Valley wooden boat community. Kerrawyn has provided spirited competition in the Historic Ketch Race and even served as the cargo carrier for the Hydrowood timber in 2017.
So when we heard that Dave and Anastasia were throwing a 70th birthday party for Kerrawyn, we had to shout out. If we want these beautiful historic boats to remain a part of the Tasmanian wooden boat scene, then we have to dig in and show our support sometimes. So please, give them a call, rock up to the Port Cygnet Sailing Club on Saturday, September 8 for what promises to be a great day out.
