December 8, 2020We are delighted to announce the official Parade of Sail 2021 route and start time. The AWBF wooden boat fleet are to follow the Motor Yacht Club Tasmania’s Launch M.L. Egeria and Tall Ships – Windeward Bound, Lady Nelson, Rhona H and Yukon around the below course to show off their sails and join together to celebrate the wooden boat community.
Sunday 7th February 2021
1100 – The fleet to assemble off the John Garrow Light.
1130 – The MYCT’s Launch, Egeria will make a sound signal to indicate the official start of the Parade of Sail and head along a course that takes the boats past Wrest Point, then across to Rosny Point (overtaking the Egeria is considered poor form).
1230 – The fleet to use the Flagship (RAN vessel anchored mid-stream) as a turning mark and head back to Sullivan’s Cove in front of the Regatta Ground.
1315 – The fleet to have cleared the start/finish line in readiness for the commencement of the Regatta’s afternoon sailing program.
1350 – Warning signal for the start of the Regatta racing. AWBF fleet to return to home ports.
Quick reminder:
– Fleet to follow MYCT’s Launch, Egeria, and Tall Ships – Windeward Bound, Lady Nelson, Rhona H and Yukon.
– The AWBF will have a vessel present for photography, media and safety, which will be clearly marked.
– There will be a police presence – for official duty and for fun.
Official registrations for the event have now closed.
