GM’s Log – July 2016
July 14, 2016Nice Work If You Can Get It
July 14, 2016The Maritime Marketplace for AWBF 2017 is filling up fast with applications for display spaces already received from over 60 exhibitors, many seeking more than one space. Most of our 2015 exhibitors are returning and we have new enquiries and registrations from marine companies interstate and overseas.
“This is a significant contribution towards AWBF 2017 and we thank our commercial partners for their support of the festival”, Paul Cullen, General Manager
With over 100 display spaces in 2015, the Maritime Marketplace is now a significant boat show, making a major contribution to the festival. No longer able to all fit into Prince Wharf Number 1 Shed (PW1) commercial displays are now featured along Franklin Wharf and around the docks.
Expert advice for boat owners
Feedback from our exhibitors is that many boat owners see AWBF as an opportunity to see new marine products and to learn from the experts.
Indeed the theatrette in PW1 was full for most information sessions in 2015. Sessions included how to prepare and paint your boat, how to choose the right engine and how to sharpen your chisels properly! An improved layout is on the drawing board to make the theatrette more comfortable for 2017.
Many festival visitors also buy new items for their boat, from some new swivels or ropes right through to outboards and diesel engines. We expect to have five diesel engine suppliers displaying in PW1 in Feb 2017.
