Meet Our Volunteers – Pieter van der Woude
July 14, 2016Boat Photos Are Important, Right?
July 14, 2016We are completely charmed by the work of artist Kaye Green, who makes beautiful rubber stamps for various Tasmanian tourism ventures and businesses. Kaye approached to offer to make a series of rubber stamps that illustrate various aspects of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival. When this lovely, bustling woman appeared in the office and showed us what she had made, we were all delighted (and this is a tough crowd to impress). This series of one-off, unique artworks is whimsical, beautiful and somehow evocative of the heart of the festival: our love affair with wooden boats.
We’ll be using the stamps to provide a souvenir for children who visit the different attractions on the festival site (and we suspect a few adults will be clamouring for the full set, too). If ever there was a more collectable series of gentle little artworks, we don’t know where you would find it. You can see more of Kaye Green’s work at Tiger Track.
