We are very pleased to announce the inaugural Specsavers AWBF Photography Competition!
This exciting competition is designed to showcase the amazing images which have been taken at the festival since 1994.

Our team of dedicated photographers have captured almost every aspect of the beautiful wooden boats and festival activities. In addition, many visiting photographers have their special AWBF images to share. And last but certainly not least, you – our readers – have taken countless thousands of great photos over many years of wooden boat fun at the Port of Hobart.
Thanks to Specsavers, we now have a platform to showcase the best of these images.
Leaders in optometry, audiology and related services, Specsavers now has more than 36 million customers, in excess of 2,800 partners worldwide, and more than 32,500 people working across their stores, support offices and supply chain. Specsavers have been very generous and we thank them for their support of this competition.

There will be great prizes for the winnng images:
- First prize $3,000
- Second prize $1,500
- People’s Choice $500
There is an entry fee of $A30 per image submitted – maximum two images per entrant.

See the finalists at AWBF 2019
Finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges and will be on display at Brooke Street Pier – departure point for ferries to MONA and Peppermint Bay and right in the heart of the festival precinct.
The Specsavers AWBF Photography Competition will provide another drawcard at the next festival. So make sure you call in to Brooke Street Pier and have a look at the finalists on display. You can even vote for your favourite in the the People’s Choice Award! A lucky voter will win a return cruise for two to Peppermint Bay including breakfast at Brooke Street Larder.
In addition, Specsavers will be announcing a great offer for everyone attending the festival.
Finalists’ images will be available to purchase in print form and in Tasmanian timber frames.
So have a look at your photos of the MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival and choose your best.
And if you know any photographers who have visited the festival over the years, send a copy of this post to them.
