GM’s Log – July 2019
July 5, 2019A Thousand Words and More
July 5, 2019After nine years and four MyState Bank Australian Wooden Boat Festivals, our General Manager, Paul Cullen, has advised the Board of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival that he intends to step down at the end of this year.
Paul’s achievements have been extraordinary, and he has contributed very greatly to the success not only of the event, but to the continuing advancement of our organisation. His contribution will be very sorely missed. He has been a pleasure to work with, and in particular I have always admired his ability to deal with all sorts of issues, difficulties and problems in a measured way.
Whilst Paul will be greatly missed, this means, of course, that the time has come for change. We are now recruiting for a new general manager to take over the helm, so the opportunity exists for a passionate, enthusiastic and skilled person to take on the role.
The position has already been advertised, but I would encourage any readers who consider they may have the right attributes for the role, to register an interest by sending an email to the Board care of the AWBF office.
In the meantime, we will no doubt continue to see Paul around the place, and on behalf of all of us here at AWBF, I would like to not only thank him again, but also to wish both he and his wife Dorcas the very best for the future.
